Another batch of heart medicines worth £672.00 will be taken to the Group's sponsored Cardiological Institute in Havana next month when Geoff leads a CSC Study Tour to Cuba.

Thanks to all who supported our Moncada Nite on 28th July which raised 100.00 for our sponsored projects. 600.00 worth of medicines, bed linen and ladies underwear plus a VCR have been delivered to UNISON offices in Manchester for despatch to Cuba thanks to local donations.

It is with sadness that we learned of the death of Brenda Lee, Secretary of Merseyside CSC, on 21st August. Geoff attended the funeral in Liverpool on 29th August and spoke on behalf of the CSC. The campaign has lost a true friend of Cuba and we offer our sympathy to the family and friends of Brenda.

Geoff will be leading a new two week tour of Cuba and Venezuela from 14 - 28 March 2007 and details will be available shortly.

A message has been sent to President Fidel Castro from the group wishing him a speedy recovery following his recent operation. His birthday celebrations have been postponed until 2 December which is Granma Landing Day.

Cuba Night 06 raised £360 at West Coast Rock Cafe in Blackpool on May Day between 10.00pm and 2.00am when 100 young people danced the night away to the music of Solid Gone Soul with Jon Baugh and Ossie Newton. Percussion was provided by Joe Fernandez of Hush and K2 and the money raised went towards Blackpool and Fylde CSC's sponsored Cardiological Institute in Havana.
